Creating Proposals

After an available candidate shows interest in an open position, you can create a proposal for your client. You can create a cover letter, add the resume of a candidate assigned to the position, save the proposal, and send the proposal to the client.

For example: You informed Daniel Anderson about the open Oracle Front end Developer position. He called back with positive feedback about the open position. Now, you can propose Daniel Anderson to your client.  

NOTE: You must assign a candidate to the position before you can propose the candidate to a client for a specific position.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

You can start with the following:

 

Create a new proposal

Use this function to create new proposals for clients. After you assign a candidate to the open position, you can propose that candidate to the client who needs to fill the open position and save the proposal.

1. Switch to the Positions module by clicking the Positions tab.

2. Select an open position in the list area (for example, Oracle Front end Developer).

3. In the toolbar, click New offer.

4. In the dialog box, an e-mail template appears with the client's name inserted (for example, Mr. Fisherman who has the open Oracle front end developer position). Enter a title for the position (for example, Consulting) and the subject of the e-mail (for example, Oracle Front end developer). See 1. in Figure A.

NOTE: You must enter a title in order to save the proposal.

5. Enter a message in the body of the e-mail, or right-click in the e-mail body and select Presenting candidate from the textblocks to use a predefined e-mail. See 2. in Figure A.

6. Click to select a candidate to propose to the client. See 3. in Figure A.

7. In the new dialog box, select the candidate to propose (for example, David McCoy). All candidates assigned to this position are automatically selected, so you must deselect candidates you do not wish to propose to the client (for example, deselect Steven Spocky because he is unavailable).

8. After selecting the desired candidate, click Add to add the candidate's resume to the e-mail proposal.

9. Click under the "N" to add a new resume.  Click under the "E" to edit the existing resume.  Click under the "D" to delete the existing resume

10. Select Qualification resume (Word), and click the format for the resume (for example, Microsoft). Choose the resume format your client prefers. Your system administrator can add resume formats.

11. In the new dialog box, select the location of the candidate's resume on your computer, and click Save.

12. The resume appears, and you can edit the resume using Microsoft Word.

13. After you check the resume and save your changes, click the box under Checked. When you check this box, you are saying you reviewed this resume and the resume is correct.

14. You can attach more files to this proposal by using the Document Manager (See 4. in Figure A). Click to create a new document, and click to add the document as an attachment.

15. Click Preview to see your proposal e-mail message.

16. Close the preview and Click Save to save the proposal.

NOTE: This saves the proposal. See Send a proposal to send the proposed candidate to the client.

Edit a proposal

Use this function to edit a saved proposal you created.

While editing proposals, you can do the following:

 

1. Switch to the Positions module by clicking the Positions tab.

2. Select an open position in the list area (for example, Oracle Front end Developer).

3. In the detail area, click the Proposed candidates tab and select the proposal you want to edit from the list area.

4. Double-click the proposal

5. In the dialog box (See Figure A), you can do the following:

Click the box under the Won column

 

Enter a title for the position (for example, Consulting) and the subject of the e-mail (for example, Oracle Front end developer). See 1. in Figure A.

Enter a message in the body of the e-mail, or right-click in the e-mail body and select Presenting candidate from the textblocks to use a predefined e-mail. See 2. in Figure A.

  1. Click to select a candidate to propose to the client. See 3. in Figure A.

  3. After you check the resume and save your changes, click the box under Checked.

Click to delete the candidate from the proposal. See 3. in Figure A

6. Click Save to save your changes to the proposal.

Delete a proposal

Use this function to remove a candidate from a saved proposal.

1. Switch to the Positions module by clicking the Positions tab.

2. Select an open position in the list area (for example, Oracle Front end Developer).

3. Click the Proposed candidates tab in the detail area and select the proposal.

TIP: Look at the title of the proposal under the Title column to make sure you select the right proposal.

4. Click Delete to delete the selected proposal.

Send a proposal

Use this function to send a proposal  to a client. You must assign candidates to a position and create a proposal before sending a proposal.

1. Switch to the Positions module by clicking the Positions tab.

2. Select an open position in the list area (for example, Oracle Front end Developer).

3. Click the Proposed candidates tab in the detail area and select the proposal.

TIP: Look at the title of the proposal under the Title column to make sure you select the right proposal. Also, look under the Sent column to make sure it says No.

4. Double-click the selected proposal to edit, or click Send to e-mail the proposal to the client.
