Searching Candidates

To find the most qualified candidates for open positions, start with the following:

 

Search for candidates who match open positions

Use this function to quickly find candidates who meet all requirements for open positions.

1. Switch to the Positions module by clicking the Positions tab.

2. In the list area, select an open position (for example, Oracle Front end Developer).

3. In the toolbar, click Find.

4. You are directed to the Candidates module where the matching candidates appear in the list area (1.) and the required skills for the position appear in the filter area (2.).

5. Deselect one or more of the selected skills in the filter area to find more matching candidates (for example, Click the boxes next to SunOS and UML in the filter area to deselect these skills).

6. Click Update Result in the filter area to see more matching candidates in the list area.

TIP: You can also use the freetextsearch (fuzzy) function to search for keywords in all text and fields in staffITpro. The free-text (fuzzy) search will usually produce more results, but these results are not exact matches. For example, in the above steps, we searched for candidates who match specific skills for the Oracle Front end Developer position, like Java and Oracle. The candidates in the list area matched Java and Oracle only in the skills field.

Search for candidates by using simple or advanced search

Use these functions to find candidates who match required skills, availability dates, locations, salaries, etc. Start with one of the following:

 

Simple search

1. Switch to the Candidates module by clicking the Candidates tab.

2. In the toolbar, click Find.

3. In the dialog box, enter one or more keywords in the search criteria field (for example, Java and Oracle and SAP) and click Find.

4. The matching candidates appear in the list area.

 

Advanced search

1. Switch to the Candidates module by clicking the Candidates tab.

2. In the toolbar, click Find.

3. In the dialog box, click Extended search.

4. In the new dialog box, double-click criteria to in the search filter to add to your search (for example, drag and drop Availability date).

5. In the new dialog box, define the filter and click OK.

5. Click Find and the matching candidates appear in the list area.

Search for candidates by using the filter area

Use this function to quickly search for candidates matching specific criteria, and update results instantly.

1. Switch to the Candidates module by clicking the Candidates tab.

2. In the filter area, choose your preferred criteria by clicking the options you wish to add.

Examples: Select Within next month under Availability

or Select Java under Last search results

or Select Oracle Front end Developer under Applications for.

3. Matching candidates appear in the list area.

TIP: When using the positions filter, click Result under freetextsearch (fuzzy)  for more candidates to appear in the list area.
